Ashley Yazdani is a picture book author/illustrator, traveler, and nature lover. She graduated with her MFA from the Illustration Practice Program at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and attended California College of the Arts for her undergraduate education. She has taught illustration courses at the Maryland Institute College of Art, and at Towson University. Her debut book, A Green Place to Be, is currently available from Candlewick Press.

Her tools of the trade are watercolors, colored pencils, and Photoshop, but she also enjoys embroidery, block printing, and screen printing.

When not pushing pigment or pixels around, Ashley can be found reading, knitting, or running around in the great outdoors. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and their brand new baby son.
